Silver Cord Class Reward for
Community Food Drive

The DSHS Silver Cord Student Board organized a school-wide food drive leading into the holiday season.  To promote participation, the Silver Cord Student Board thought a friendly competition among the four grades, as well as staff, would increase the volume of items donated. The DSHS Educational Foundation supported the Student Board's idea by funding the prize for the winning class/staff. Each person in the winning class received a free ice cream sundae during lunch on a designated day. A total of 782.4 pounds of food items were collected, which resulted in an amazing donation to the St. Vincent de Paul Food Distribution Center. Congratulations to the sophomore class for winning the competition!
